I’m a huge sucker for comfort, luxury and design and the ParkRoyal Kettering Road in Singapore has all these things.

This beautiful eco hotel almost doesn’t feel real, and once reality starts to sink in, it certainly feels like an oasis in the middle of Singapore. Its so natural, yet so Singapore. An 18-story skyscraper right in the business district, its weird that it feels so “green” with so much foliage, earth tones and eco friendly amenities.

This is definitely one the prettiest hotels I’ve ever stayed in, but its also one of the most comfy.

Being a skyscraper that’s pretty open to the city, with floor to ceiling windows everywhere, you have great city views pretty much everywhere.

We stayed in an Orchid Club room so we could have a very high view, and access to the Orchid Club Lounge. Guests get a champagne breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails. We weren’t there for the tea or cocktails, but we did enjoy the breakfast.

…and the views at breakfast!

The selection was good at breakfast, not as plentiful as the Fullerton but a little of everything, with some Asian options, Continental pastries, British baked beans and an egg bar.

Our room was on the 13th floor, down a hallway that was outside and amongst some vines. If you looked over the side, you’d tumble down to the ground, which was a little scary, but also kind of cool, like being in a cloud forest.

As I said before, our view was amazing: floor to ceiling windows with city views, and a bit of greenery from the hotel too so the city didn’t feel too glass/metal/harsh.

The view was fabulous both day and night.

The room itself is gorgeous, really well designed with a huge, comfortable bed (although there were holes in the linen) and an even better tub.

The bathroom and bedroom are open plan, but you can close a large double door if you want some privacy between the two rooms.

The amenities were better than average, created by their on-site spa, St Gregory, which we didn’t go to since we were only there for the evening and following morning. They all smelled great and were made of natural ingredients.

The food situation was very good. Like I said, we didn’t have time to try the tea or cocktails, so we ordered room service to enjoy our room our last night. I had pasta and C. had Indian (paneer). Both were above average.

Another bonus of staying in an Orchid Club room is that you can help yourself to any non-alcoholic beverage in the mini-bar for free!

I’d highly recommend a stay at the ParkRoyal. The service wasn’t as fast or friendly as at the Fullerton Hotel, where we spent our first week in Singapore, but it is a beautiful hotel with amazing views (and a great bath tub, which if you’re there for pleasure, is a MUST!).
