That’s right, I’m moving back to London in six weeks!
OK, now that the BIG announcement I promised is out of the way, back to the topic at hand.
When the going gets tough, or not even tough, just crazy, I’m so
lucky to say my friends are keen for an evening of cocktails and food,
two things that inevitably calm me down when I get frazzled. This time, I
joined the two A’s for international street food at Linger, a Denver culinary institution.
This place was once the old O’Linger mortuary, and they advertise that fact very…well, plainly. Note the word play between “Mortuaries” and “Eatuaries.” Clever.
They start off your mortuary-eatery experience with interestingly seasoned popcorn. I think there’s curry in it.
We started the night off with a few cocktails- I enjoyed the Coconut Daquiri, while A1 had a beer and A2 wine.
We split our food, which is served tapas style. We split
the Popper “Breakdown,” shishito peppers with orange-habanero jam. I
could NOT. STOP. eating these.
For entrees, we split a crispy lentil salad, inspired from street
food from Africa and the Middle East, and Masala Dosa, borrowed from the
South Asian streets.
After our massive dinner and a bit of toodling around the old mortuary, we stopped next door for some Little Man ice cream, only the best ice cream in Denver. The line was quite long, but well worth the wait.
I’ll definitely miss this place when I go, but more than anything, I’ll miss the people!

Shishito peppers are definitely the biznizz. They are addicting! This place looks like a winner, such cool design and the popcorn is a nice touch! If I may ask, Why are you moving back to London?
