Bath

To cheer me up from various and sundry things going wacky, I decided to take a little weekend minibreak.

I didn’t want to spend too much money, so I decided to venture closer to home, stopping in Bath after a day trip to Bristol. Despite being grey and cloudy, it was the perfect antidote to the mean reds I’d been experiencing the past few weeks.

I stayed at the Dorian House B&B, which had a great view of the hills beyond town.

It’s just a short walk from town, where I spent the first night lazing around in the Bath Spa. The next day, though, I did some sightseeing.

I went to the ancient Roman baths. They have found SO much there in the bath in the past thousand years, from bones to brass to paintings- its fascinating!

The rain and cold made me want to jump right in!

After the baths, I walked around the town. As usual, my mind was blown by old, quaint Bath. My favorite view was Pulteney Bridge (see below).

…followed by the Circus, a remnant of Georgian architecture by John Wood, whose name is everywhere around the city.

All in all, a relaxing little weekend in a great little town.
