For the first few days here, I must admit I have been a bit of a beach bum and night owl. But, to my defense, no decent nightlife in Brazil starts until about midnight- so there’s tons of other things to fit into the day- if you can get up after a late night, that is!
Most days recently have begun with a walk along the beach. Since living in Denver, I’ve let the mountains grow on me, despite always having been a pretty big beach gal as a kid. Here in Rio, I get both!
I’ve also been able to try local favorites, including Acai, a fruit mixed with banana. Throw in some granola and you have a cold, fruity, frosty-like treat.
One of my favorite activities was walking around Copacabana one day. The views of the beach and the city were positively stunning. Looking back at these pictures, I feel better, because thinking back, I wonder if I’ve made up the trip and everything I’ve seen in my head, it’s been so great!
