Not literally, of course, but the same spirit, excitement and general buzz fills the air (for me, anyway) every Community Manager Appreciation Day.
The best thing is, this year, yours truly will be on one of the panels!
So what exactly is Community Manager Appreciation Day (#CMAD)?
CMAD is kinda like Teacher Appreciation Day, or Secretary’s Day, or any other day where you celebrate professionals for all the hard work they do. The only thing is, community managers are involved, so we make it BIG and get LOTS of people involved. This year, #CMAD happens Monday, January 27, and they’re aiming for a 24-hour long Google+ hang out in addition to live events worldwide. Each hour, there will be a panel discussion about different topics that I’m sure social media and community managers will find fascinating, from CMing on the road to challenges for international communities to organic growth from scratch. Phew!
I’m not a community manager, so why does it matter?
Did you read the above! There are going to be 24 hours worth of amazing panels chock full of information anyone even remotely interested in social media, blogging and digital in general may find helpful. And even if you’re not, if you have a community manager in your life (there’s one RIGHT HERE writing this), its an opportunity to impress him/her by saying happy #CMAD.
Tell me more!
Learn more about the day, which kicks off at 12am EST (5am GMT) and all the panels by visiting the CMAD website.
Hear me speak.
My panel is first- oy vay! That means I’ll be up at 5am, and if I can get up and make it happen, so can you! Listen in as I chat with other industry experts on community and charitable campaigns. If you’re interested in crowdfunding or fundraising, this will be a great resource to listen in on. All panels are on Google+, so accessible anywhere you are- which will most likely be in bed.
Check out CMAD to see you Monday!
