D Bar, Denver

I’ve been holding out on you guys. Don’t be mad! Like anything good, I tend to savor it off in a corner for a while and then explode with the news that I’ve found the BEST. THING. EVER. At least you know I give it a full vetting process before talking about it.

D Bar is the creation of chef Keegan Gerhard. If you ever watch the Food Network, the name probably sounds familiar. After Pinche Tacos on HBL’s birthday, we had a little party left in us, so ignoring the fact that we were pretty full of Denver’s best Mexican, we moseyed over to D Bar for some wine and cake!

The menu is pretty extensive, as I suppose you’d expect it to be! Whether you’re a fan of chocolate, vanilla or something completely different (lemon, lavender, honey, etc.), they have it!

The only downside to such a long, scrumptious menu is that it takes a looooong time to decide what you want.

But at least the wine list is pretty extensive so you can sip while you think on it.

Eventually we settled on the good ol’ cake and shake, a delicious chocolate cake and malt to match.

Of course, they brought a candle for the birthday boy, but he was too embarrassed to let me sing happy birthday. At least I got a good picture of him blowing out the candles.

I wish I could say we brought leftovers home, but we ate the entire thing.

So now that I’ve shared this gem with you, look it up and, if you’re ever in Denver, make sure D Bar is on your itinerary. It is simply not to be missed!
