Cuba Cuba is a bit pricey, which is surprising when you first walk in. It’s not in the nicest area of town (the Golden Triangle) and everything looks a bit, well, rustic. But, in my experience, that usually means the food is going to be amazing, and this place proves my theory right!
We started out with the ceviche, which is fish and lots of veggies in a soupy substance called tiger’s blood. Instead of eating it off forks, which I usually do when it comes to ceviche, we ate with plantain chips.
Next was the BEST part of any visit to Cuba Cuba: caipirinhas! They are sugary, lime-y and strong- I recommend finding a taxi home after a few!
For the main course, Bart got the paella and I had coco prawns, which was a shrimp dish with coconut sauce on mashed potato. I decided to get mine extra spicy, which added a nice kick to the sweet coconut sauce.
Couldn’t even fit in a tres leche after all that food, but all in all after dinner and a few caipirinhas I was a happy birthday girl!

I will definitely visit Cuba Cuba if I come to Denver.
The foods are looking great, however the restaurant probably needs to be decorated better.
Ha they do have the whole austere look down pat, I think that's part of the charm though- it's very authentic. Definitely give it a go if you're in Denver, the food is AMAZING!
